Dentures Being Created

What are dentures?

Dentures are dental appliances used to replace missing teeth without the need for implants, bridges or crowns. Most dentures can be easily inserted and removed, depending on your needs.

If you are currently experiencing any of the following symptoms of tooth loss, dentures could be a great tooth replacement solution for you:

You lost multiple teeth in an injury

Decay or disease caused some of your teeth to fall out

You struggle to talk or chew due to tooth loss

You can trust our denture specialists at Your Bronx Dentist to help you determine the best use of dentures to restore the function and appearance of your mouth.

Dentures aren’t a one-size-fits-all solution. Your Bronx Dentist offers the following types of dentures to meet your unique oral needs.

Complete Dentures

Complete dentures are often used by patients who are missing the majority of their teeth and need a simple yet comprehensive replacement solution. By replacing all teeth along the top and bottom of your mouth, complete dentures help you smile, chew, and talk with more confidence.

Complete dentures are available in two different forms known as immediate and conventional. Both forms of complete dentures include a natural-looking base designed to resemble your gum tissue. That base affixes to your real gumline and holds your new set of teeth.

The differences between immediate and conventional complete dentures are their timing and permanency. Immediate dentures can be placed as soon as your old, damaged teeth are extracted. This is a huge perk for patients who don’t want to endure an 8 to 12 week recovery process without any teeth!

However, since immediate dentures are placed over healing oral tissue, they need to be adjusted and refitted during the course of your recovery period. Once your mouth has fully healed from extractions, you can swap your immediate dentures for the conventional dentures that you’ll use permanently.

Partial Dentures

Instead of rehabilitating your entire mouth, partial dentures are best to replace just a few select teeth. Just like full dentures, partial dentures also match your gum tissue and support replacement teeth. You might use a partial denture for a couple teeth or just one single tooth. Our dentsist will help you choose the best solution for your smile.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Standard complete and partial dentures stay in place using a suctioning mechanism along your gum line. If you would rather have dentures that stay permanently in place through all talking, chewing, and smiling movements, consider implant-supported dentures.

This type of denture is attached to a few implants placed strategically along the top and/or bottom of your mouth. Most implant-supported dentures can only be removed by a professional at Your Bronx Dentist, so you can enjoy sturdy and reliable function in your day-to-day life.
